Producer Em is led by award-winning producer and director Emily Cross, whose career spans high-impact commercial production, award-winning short films, and internationally recognised documentary work.

Emily has rapidly built a reputation as a dynamic and reliable creative force in both the commercial and factual storytelling space. Since 2018, she has produced over 900 commercial productions -including stills, video, and TVCs - for major brands such as Mr Price, with previous work on campaigns for leading South African brands like Game, OMO, and DEFY. Her ability to lead productions of all sizes with efficiency, creativity, and team-focused management has positioned her as a trusted producer within the industry.

Including multiple Durban 48 Hour Film Project wins, such as:

* Best Film for Joyride (2018)
* Best Film for Osu (2021)
* A Top 3 finish for The Greenhouse Effect (2019).

Emily is also an accomplished documentary filmmaker. She wrote, produced, and directed the short documentary “Part of the Pack” (2019), a film centred on African Wild Dogs. The project won the Audience Award and development funding at the 2018 NEWF Congress and later received Best Film on Conservation and the Environment at the Scout Film Festival 2020. It was selected for over 40 global festivals and broadcast on SABC’s 50/50 and the People’s Weather Channel. Emily has since completed development on the feature-length version of Part of the Pack, supported by development funding from the NFVF.

Beyond her filmmaking, Emily has contributed meaningfully to the conservation storytelling space as the Impact & Production Manager for NEWF (2021–2022), bringing her combined strengths in storytelling, logistics, and community-centred engagement into impact-driven media.
